Converting a garage is one of the easiest ways of getting extra space in your home, without adding an entire room. By taking care of waterproofing, opening up windows and bringing up a wall, you can convert your garage into a bedroom or family room. Remember, that a garage conversion will include electric and plumbing work, and installation of heating and cooling systems. You can also create additional storage space to continue using your garage to hold seasonal items and materials, household and gardening tools etc.
Having a designated storage area in your garage conversion will enable you to have extra space for storage, as well as a family room or home gym. If you have the luxury of space, consider multiple uses for your converted garage. For instance, if you plan to convert your garage into a room for socializing, you will also need to install an extra bathroom, a bar area and an entertainment center. A room like this can also easily double as a family room. Chalk out your garage addition plans to meet your needs perfectly.
